There are many types of canister vacuum cleaner, but regardless of the form you choose, there are a number of features that you should consider.
The power determines the energy with which the vacuum cleaner works, so, the higher the power, the more suction capacity it will have. Acceptable power is found at 350 watts and can exceed 1200 watts.
The filter is decisive when choosing a vacuum cleaner. The HEPA filter (High-Efficiency Particulate Air) in particular is the best on the market today, as it is able to trap the microscopic particles improving air quality considerably. But there are also other types of HEPA filters within this category, so you will have to consider your needs and choose a filter according to them.
In addition to the filter itself, it should be noted that the compartments and filter of the canister vacuum cleaner are well insulated and sealed. This way they can enter, but not leave. A vacuum with a HEPA filter is the best option for people with allergies or respiratory problems, since it eliminates a large number of mites.
Brushes and heads
The internal brushes that have the heads help to descale the dust particles and to move the dirt towards the suction part of the vacuum cleaner. In this way, there are vacuum cleaners with several phases, which first make a sweep to then vacuum the dirt particles. This brushing system facilitates aspiration with more consistent soils, such as crumbs and other food remains or pet hair. If you have children or pets at home, it is important that you notice this aspect.
When power is high, so is consumption. That is why it is important that the relationship between power and consumption is as balanced as possible. In this way, the motor of the vacuum cleaner will suffer less and you will be able to save on the electricity bill in the long term. The energy consumption of vacuum cleaners is determined by the American label of energy efficiency, where A +++ is the level of greatest convenience.
A good canister vacuum cleaner can last many years, if not all of life. Investing in a good vacuum will save you from having to pay a good amount of money again, besides saving you the headaches of choosing a good device. There are brands that tend to break down less than others, among the best are Dyson, Miele, iFORCE, to name a few.
Trust brands that offer you a good guarantee (of at least two years) in case the product does not satisfy you or is defective.
The price range of a canister vacuum cleaner can vary a lot. To give a concrete example, it can range between 100 and 2,000 dollars. Therefore, it is vital to take into account all the functions and features of the vacuum cleaner so that the money you spend on your vacuum cleaner is an investment and not a waste.
