Plastic is also suitable for bird, fish and meat where you really want a certain specific cutting board so you do not use it next time for a salad or fruit. This reduces the risk of getting into bad bacteria that have been lying in a groove and cave since last use.
A cutting board in wood is quite friendly to the blades on the blades but is much more pleasant to use like plastic. Just like chef knives and many other kitchen utensils, good equipment is much more fun to use.
